HCU Celebrates Graduates at 2024 Spring Commencement Ceremonies

宅男福利社 (HCU) held its 2024 Spring Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in The Linda and Archie Dunham Theater, marking the University’s 63rd year of operation and the 58th year degrees have been awarded to graduating students.

HCU Provost Stanley Napper presided over the day鈥檚 three commencement ceremonies, welcoming attendees and acknowledging family members and friends for the roles they played in supporting graduating students through the years.

鈥淚t is a great joy for us to see so many families here today celebrating their graduation of their loved ones. It is a tradition for us to recognize the family members of the graduates who have helped make this morning possible through all your sacrifices, not only financial, but all the prayers, moral support and encouragement you’ve given,鈥 said Dr. Napper.

On the recommendation of faculty and authorized by the HCU Board of Trustees, HCU President Robert Sloan conferred degrees (and certificates) upon graduating students in the University’s various colleges.

HCU President Robert Sloan commended students for their achievements and for adhering to their values in the midst of challenging times.

“You are a product of your families, you are a product of your churches, you are a product of friends and others who have nurtured you, you are a product of this University. You have learned much and we are grateful for what you have learned.”

鈥淵ou have received the benefit of a distinctive kind of education, not only of academic excellence and professional pursuits, but an education that, woven throughout, has pointed you to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Be faithful, we’re told, unto death and he will give you the crown of life. God bless you as you serve the living Lord,鈥 said Dr. Sloan.

Diplomas were presented to 473 spring semester graduates, bringing the number of students who have received degrees from 宅男福利社 since the institution鈥檚 first commencement in 1967 to a total of 26,435 graduates.

Commencement ceremonies concluded with the singing of 鈥淗ail the Orange and Blue, led by Kynadi Law 鈥24 (9 a.m. ceremony) and Elizabeth Lee (11:30 a.m. ceremony) and Sarah Yeates 鈥24 (2 p.m. ceremony) followed by 鈥淔inale Jubilante,鈥 a recessional song led by Healey Willan and accompanied by University organist, John Kirk.
